Do You Have Trouble Staying Awake During the Day?

SCHEDULE A MULTIPLE SLEEP LATENCY TEST AT OUR SLEEP CLINIC

The Multiple Sleep Latency Test, sometimes referred to as a daytime nap study, is a test that measures how long it takes you to fall asleep and determines if and when you enter REM sleep. It tests for excessive daytime sleepiness by measuring how quickly you fall asleep in a quiet environment during the day.

This full-day test consists of five scheduled naps separated by two-hour breaks. During each scheduled naptime, you will try to fall asleep. If you fall asleep, you’ll be awakened after 15 minutes. If you don’t fall asleep after 20 minutes, the nap trial will end.
